About Me

Worlds of Words is a writing & translation business based in the UK. It is run by Natali Lekka a seasoned freelance journalist, writer and translator. Having been attracted by the world of travelling, foreign languages and written expression from a very young age, Natali trained as a translator in Athens, Greece and then went on to obtain a MA in Translation Studies (2003) from the University of Warwick, in the UK. She speaks 5 languages and works from English & French into Greek.

Prior to moving back to Greece in 2007, Natali spent 7 years in the UK. She worked for a blue-chip company (IBM), a Publishing & Multimedia company (Ten Alps) and a TV production company (FreeForm TV) researching TV programmes for Channel 4's famous travel show - A Place in the Sun. In 2007, she worked briefly as a TV reporter for a Greek TV channel and in 2008, she took up the position of editorial assistant for an N.G.O. for the protection of the environment. In 2011, Natali became a member of the Association of European Journalists (AEJ) and in 2014, a member of the British-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce (BHCC). Today, she translates for a number of agencies and companies around the world and writes articles, mostly about Greece, for a variety of international online and print media. Since 2013, she calls Newcastle her home.
